Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)
Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) has become a popular treatment for men over 40 – the age when testosterone levels naturally begin to decline at the rate of about 1 to 2% per year. If you have Low-T and you’ve been putting off scheduling an appointment with your doctor, you may not realize just how easy it is to get started with testosterone replacement therapy. All you have to do is Call Today.
What is Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)?
Testosterone is the primary sex hormone in men responsible for many critical functions, such as regulating sex drive, bone health, and muscle mass. Common symptoms of low testosterone include weight gain, hair loss, erectile dysfunction, and mood changes. The most accurate way to know if symptoms are related to changes in hormone levels is to consult with a provider who can order lab testing. Testosterone replacement therapy, sometimes referred to as androgen replacement therapy or bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), is an FDA-approved treatment for low testosterone.
Here are a few of the benefits of TRT:
- Increased sex drive: Research findings suggest that about 50% of men between the age of 40 and 70 experience some degree of erectile dysfunction, and TRT has effectively increased libido and sexual function.
- Weight loss: Testosterone therapy is positively associated with weight loss and reduced waist circumference.
- Better sleep: Studies have shown that TRT also helps improve sleep quality, which can positively impact other areas of health.
- Increased strength: Restoring testosterone to normal levels is also linked to increased strength and muscle mass.
Common TRT treatment options include injectables, creams, gels, tablets, or capsules. The best way to determine which is right is to consult with a medical provider who can carefully assess risk factors and make recommendations based on the patient’s needs. Because the treatment requires a thorough medical evaluation and ongoing monitoring, finding the right provider is vital.
Peptides are naturally occurring compounds composed of short chains of amino acids. They act as messengers within the body, influencing and regulating various processes such as hormone production, immune response, tissue repair, and more. As we age or face specific health challenges, our peptide levels may decline, contributing to various symptoms and conditions.
Our Peptide Therapies
At Juvenate Wellness, we offer a range of targeted peptide therapies that have shown promising results in promoting overall wellness and addressing specific health concerns. Some of the peptide therapies we offer include:
Sermorelin is a growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analog that stimulates the body's natural production of growth hormone. It can help enhance energy levels, improve sleep quality, increase muscle mass, and support healthy aging.
BPC-157 is a peptide known for its regenerative properties. It promotes tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and may accelerate healing in cases of injuries or musculoskeletal conditions.
PT-141, also known as Bremelanotide, is a peptide that addresses sexual health concerns. It is designed to enhance sexual desire and function in both men and women.
Benefits of Peptide Therapy
Peptide therapies can offer a wide range of potential benefits, including:
- Improved Energy Levels
- Enhanced Muscle Recovery and Growth
- Reduced Inflammation
- Enhanced Sexual Health and Function
- Support for Joint and Tissue Health
HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, and it is a natural hormone that has been found to mimic the effects of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) in males. LH plays a vital role in the synthesis and secretion of testosterone. When HCG is utilized to treat male infertility or hypogonadism, it gets to work on mimicking the effects of LH. This, in turn, means that it stimulates the natural production of testosterone from within the testes.
HCG is sometimes used during testosterone replacement therapy because testosterone replacement therapy can lower sperm production due to the feedback loop on both the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. In men still wanting to have children hCG therapy can help preserve sperm production by maintaining intra-testicular testosterone levels. Not only will hCG help to restore your fertility and sperm production, but it can reduce the testicle shrinkage. Using hCG with TRT can restore your testicles to their normal, healthy size and function.
Studies have shown that in healthy normal testosterone men selected to undergo TRT, it was shown that their intra-testicular testosterone levels dropped by 94% while on therapy. However, in those who received HCG injections along with TRT, their intra-testicular testosterone levels only dropped 7%. Additionally, in men who received TRT and a higher dose of hCG every other day, had an increase in intra-testicular testosterone by 26% from baseline was observed. This proved that co-administering low dose hCG could maintain intra-testicular testosterone in those undergoing TRT. It was later shown that not only is intra-testicular testosterone increased with co-administration hCG but the sperm count is preserved as well at one year follow up.
It is important to note that injectable medication provides a more reliable delivery than other drug administration methods of HCG on the market. HCG drops or supplements are NOT a viable alternative to medical-grade HCG. An HCG injection is injected subcutaneously into the fat tissue in the lower stomach or the fat pad of outer glute with a small insulin syringe. Injectable hCG is available through prescription only.
Thanks to the testosterone replacement therapy & HCG therapy, you may experience normal intra-testicular testosterone production, leading to increased fertility and overall health!
In the aging male population, the loss of muscle mass can be accentuated by a natural decrease in anabolic hormones. Different anabolic therapies are available to improve skeletal muscle density, muscle strength and size to reduce fragility, risk of fall and enhance activities of daily life. Anabolic and androgenic agents such as Nandrolone Decanoate (Deca) and Testosterone have shown to consistently increase skeletal muscle tissue and heighten the effects of resistance training. Both testosterone and Deca increase the size and number of myofibrils, the structural component of muscle tissue.
Most importantly, the addition of resistance exercise to Nandrolone Decanoate therapy improved muscle quality and strength by as much as 55%. Resistance exercise may improve the effect of anabolic hormone therapy by changing the architecture of the muscle (compacting muscle fibers, improving neuromuscular adaptations to resistance and changing the ratio of type I & type 2 muscle fibers.) The study also quelled the concerns that anabolic / androgenic agents cause significant increases in serum lipids profiles and liver function tests. These findings were not witnessed in the current study.
In men, with muscle wasting conditions, growth hormone therapy is often used to improve fat free mass. The study noted above demonstrates the alternatives to growth hormone therapy to achieve similar outcomes.
DECA has both the characteristics of testosterone, but much greater activity towards stimulating muscle growth and improving recovery after strenuous resistance exercise. DECA is used clinically to treat patients with burns, radiation therapy, sarcopenia and muscle wasting conditions. Deca has a long half and binds with a strong affinity to androgen receptors. Deca, unlike testosterone, does not undergo conversion to DHT and has less effect on hair follicles. Deca is often provided with testosterone to prevent suppression of the hypopituitary gonadal axis and maintain certain male physiologic processes.
Nandrolone Decanoate is a type II anabolic androgenic steroid. Anabolic steroids were developed in the 1930’s and by the 1980’s wide spread use was found among elite athletes to enhance muscle size, growth and performance. Currently, it is estimated that over 4 million individuals in the United States use some form of anabolic steroids, and not just elite athletes. The majority of individuals obtain such medication from non-licensed medical personal. Therapy is often not monitored and anabolic steroid usage is considered a global public health problem.
